Customer

A leading global coatings company.

Problem

The customer was undergoing a rebrand with another global coating company, converting all of their employees to the new domain name, company image and upgrading over 274 desktops/laptops at their Canadian operations, with limited IT staff to support the project. As a result, they were in need of an IT services company to come in and work with their hardware supplier to make sure the migration was completed in a short window and with a fixed budget.

Solution

Keltech provided the resources to handle all stages of the migration. We started by unpacking and capturing all the new hardware’s asset information (model number, serial number). The next step was to upgrade the system memory for all laptops and desktops and install unique interface cards in some desktops to connect to proprietary printing equipment in their warehouse area. Our staff then applied the new standardized image and company-specific configuration details. Some of their employees had files saved locally to their laptops/desktops to be migrated to their new devices. Once their data was migrated over, our Keltechnicians configured all of the network drives and printers. The old asset information had to be captured in order to dispose the equipment and prepare for shipping. To ensure the project was completed on time, Keltech deployed a team of eight resources that worked 12-hour days, including weekends, to complete all the tasks.

Results

All devices were handed off to their employees with their data migrated and network drives and printers configured. The project was completed on time and within budget. Keltech also provided a couple of resources to work with their team over six weeks to support the users in adapting to their new hardware, OS, and domain.
